#PMONKZ --- OMO TO PE BY A-TEAM
Following up from their infectious debut single “Fresh” which has been supported and featured on tastemaker blogs such as Jaguda, Too Xclusive and 360 Nobs among others, fast-rising UK-based Nigerian R&B/Hip-Hop trio A-Team are back with their sophomore single titled “Omo To Pe” and an exciting new music visual to accompany it. A slight detour from their head-bopping Hip-Hop cut debut which was “Fresh”, “Omo To Pe” shows off the trio’s softer side and commercial savvy in this classy R&B/Hip-Hop opus backed by gentle keyboard arrangements and subtle drum patterns.
With the well-crafted music video, shot and directed by Flake City Film’s Charlz (Bonja) and starring all three members of the A-Team (Kin, Fasa and Q) as burgeoning photographers who are trying to pull off a photoshoot without the interference of their meddling landlord, the “Omo To Pe” visuals are an ode to beautiful and hardworking African girls all across the world that possess that certain je ne sais quoi which the A-team refer to as “that thang”…
#PMONKZ --- OMOTE by ESE PETERS
AbOriginal Music is proud to present “Omote” - the brand new single from Alternative Nigerian Singer/Songwriter and producer Ese Peters. Debuting as the first single from his forthcoming self-titled EP, the Sizzle-produced “Omote” is a soaring ballad that is very much vintage Ese Peters.
Backed by lush acoustic guitars, resounding string arrangements and subtle drum patterns, over which Ese Peters effortlessly but compellingly displays his soulful vocal tones, undeniable singing abilities and heart-tugging song writing dexterity, “Omote” is a brilliantly crafted Rock ballad that not only cuts straight to the heart of its listener but also sets Ese Peters well apart from anything that is in Nigerian’s musical landscape in 2012.
A love letter to the woman in his life, “Omote” is unashamedly passionate, with earnest lyrics delivered over soaring melodies. The result is a new anthem for lovers everywhere looking to tell that special someone how they truly feel.

#PMONKZ CHAT--- AceWorldTEAM Meets: REAL B …by Shayo Grass
AceWorldTEAM Meets: REAL B …by Shayo Grass
Real B a.k.a "Sharp Shooter" is undoubtedly no new name on the scene; he's a talented singer, song-writer and performing art. His talent became evident when he released 2 singles earlier titled "Suicidal" [a club banger] and "U're Mine" that received massive downloads from various blogs on the internet, as well as airplays from top radio stations. He went ahead to shoot an outstanding video for "U're Mine", which is presently enjoying airplay, not to talk of his recently dropped freestyle on Iyanya's "Kukere" beat, which is rated the best cover of the song by music professionals.
Real B has been featured alongside some of the biggest artistes in the Southern region in Nigeria's music industry and has appeared on several mix-tape projects from artistes and prominent DJs like DJ Perez [Ghana-based Nigerian DJ], just to mention a few. Already among the top lists of the next big thing to happen in the Nigeria music industry, "Sharp Shooter" [as he's also called] is shooting far towards his dreams beyond Africa, as he plans to unleash the unexpected.
AceWorldTEAM courtesy of Shayo Grass caught up with Real B via a bbm chat and they had this quick convo, where he talks about how he came up with his present stage name, alongside his hopes and plans in the nearest future. | ENJOY!!!
*****CHAT BEGINS*****
Participants:
Messages:
Hello, Real B
Yes boss
Lol - first of all, thank you for your time
Oh yea, the pleasure's mine
Secondly, "Realest Baba" how did you get that name?
Hmmm. Back then in my hood, people see "REALity" in me, they even called me 2baba in the making, until I stole a certain show; all I could hear them yelling was "Real Baba" continuously. I felt like a star and fell in love with the name since it came from my fans. Had to figure out that the letter "B" is an initial of my name, "Bright" and also to the "Baba" they do call me, and that was it.
Wow, interesting; how long has music been a passion of yours?
Honestly, I've tried to figure that out, and I concluded: "I was born with music inside of me". Music is one part of my body like we, having ribs, kidneys, and liver. It runs in my bloodstream. It's a force already within me when I saw myself arrive on the scene. It was actually a necessity for me, like food, water, or air.
Nice!!! what inspired the confidence for you to launch into it officially?
I began my career when I joined an acapella group; we went to shows then. It became obvious we were doing great, and noticed I enjoyed doing it [music]; the desire in me inspired it.
Mmmm
Enjoy*
So, how did you get noticed?
Hmmmm, it's not been easy. I did jingles for FM stations to buy them into promoting my songs on air; I went 2 a lot of free shows, mingled with a lot of DJs, and I won't deny the fact that our social networks [Twitter and Facebook] helped a lot too. Thumbs up to 'em bloggers.
Real B - SuicidalWooooops!! "Suicidal" - I needed to do a club banging track for my fans, then I chose to talk about 'em ladies [hot ones] we do meet in these big clubs, what they do to hommies [they show no love]; in "U're Mine", I tried to bring in a different concept of our everyday tunes in Nigeria, so I spiced it up with some South-African rhythms.
What are your special hobbies apart from music?
Ok o, I be free guy o; nothing much... I enjoy balling, hanging out with REAL peeps, my Playstation game is not too far from me too *laughs*
Hahahaha. Do you have any idols in the Nigerian music industry?
Oh yea *keeps laughing*
Lol
Of course I do. Much respect goes out to the legendary 2face Idibia a.k.a "2baba" and my hommie Wande Coal; they are REAL fellas.
Why do you think so?
I respect their music, and of course we've clubbed together.
Oh cool! Should we expect an album soon?
In the studio I just keep doing songs, but I'm not dropping an album anytime soon. I believe getting to an "A-list" first, before my debut album drops.
We're aware that one of your targets is to shoot beyond Africa, what ends do you wanna reach?
Funny enough, I'm already getting some recognition outside our environ; like in Ghana, South Africa, Scotland, e.t.c. I've always dreamt of being an international act, but I wanna proof that by making a big impact in our very own Nigerian music industry first. I don't have ends to reach o; "if we see chance, we go blow reach heaven sef" *laughs*.
Hahhaa, good point. So where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
OMG!!! With that number of years, the sky's gonna be my starting point. I see myself being celebrated all over; it should be a dream come true.
Wow, that's VERY cool. What advice would you give to upcoming artists who are trying to break into the music industry?
Oh yea; Oluwa is involved.
Haha
Hold firm to your God and determination. Never give up, because every successful journey always have rough paths. Just keep doing your thing and well; nobody can believe in you more than yourself.
Nice. Thank you so much for your time once again. You've been awesome.
You're welcome and thanks. Like I said earlier, the pleasure's mine.
:D
*smiles*. I wanna S/O 2 my fans ;)
#pmonkz chat--- 10mins with PATRICK ELIS by EDWARD FORTUNE
His sudden invasion into the industry no doubt gave the already
existing cinematographers and music directors more reasons to fasten
their seat belts if they really still wanted bread on their table.
He’s a Niger Delta indigene that refused to pick up guns but rather
chose to use the cameras as his own weapon to put food on his table.
His first major debut was when he shot “Labala by Samklef”. The
creative and impressive work captured the attention of the E.M.E boss
himself” Banky W” then they got into talks and the result of the
closed door meetings gave birth to the video: “Holla at ur boy” by
wizkid and ever since, there’s been no looking back as he has
seriously stepped up his game. He’s worked with great talents in the
industry such as: Samklef, Wizkid, Elphlex, Shank, Olamide, Morell,
Iceberg slim, just to mention a few. Out of a very busy schedule,
PATRICK ELIS was kind enough to spare 10 minutes of his time as he
gave me insights into the world of music video directing.
Excerpts:
Music directing, how did it all start?
It actually started way back but officially it started 2 years ago but
before then I have done stuffs for people, commercials and all that
for different companies. I shoot videos for different directors and
all of that. But officially I ventured into my own stuff as PATRICK
ELIS PICTURES 2 year ago.
Why photography and directing?
I love pictures most especially still pictures and in Nigeria,
photography isn’t really given the attention it truly deserves and
photographers in Nigeria really don’t have that pride as a
photographer and it’s all because people prefer directors to
photographers. So my passion for still pictures and motion pictures
actually made me go into the act.
How did you learn the act?
Well basically, since it’s something that I have always had the
passion for, it was quite easy because I learn everywhere I go and I
always create my own things. I learnt from the internet as well and
though I schooled out of the country, I just gathered all the bits and
pieces together and coupled them together.
From the stables of PATRICK ELIS pictures, which was your first major
video you shoot?
The first I shot was Laba laba by Samklef.
Before shooting a video, what goes into your head?
Basically for me, before shooting a video, it goes through a stage
called the pre-production where we draw out a concept and a story
line. Whereas for some videos we don’t create story line, we use
pictures.
Which is your favourite video?
The one I did for Olamide-young erikina. It wasn’t really meant to be
a TV video, it was meant to be a YouTube video. The whole concept of
the video was just about doing something different, no cutting of
cameras and post production. So we shot the video under five minutes.
And am so glad people like the video and though it was suppose to be a
YouTube video, it’s now on TV and I am deeply humbled by the fact that
its loved by everyone.

Rising Nigerian rap sensation LUNI returns with the very infectious and creatively crafted new music video for his latest single titled "One Thing Two”. #PMONKZ MUSIC --- INVINCIBLE BY AL'CHADDAS
He needs no further introduction as he has been everywhere since this year [2012] started. Having dropped off 3 singles between the months of January and March together with releasing his 14-track "ALcyclopedia" mix-tape [also in the month of March], Al’Chaddas still puts in more works to bring us 2 fresh singles only recently ["Mind Your Manners (None Like Me)" and "Something's Missing"]. Now, it's the 9thmonth of the year, and he decides to release a brand new single titled "Invincible".
This new single sees Al’Chaddas carefully sampling one of Machine Gun Kelly's instrumental, on which he speaks about himself going through life's endeavors, the tides it brings along with it and also getting to the end, whilst still breathing and comfortable on his feet.
A lady once asked him: "Chaddas, I still wonder why you always rap about yourself", and in Al’Chaddas words, he replied: "Why do you think I make it sound so easy? That's the easiest story I can tell". Listen up to this fresh tune coming from Cheezville's very own Al’Chaddas.
It’s going to be of note that this would be the last mix-tape material coming from Al’Chaddas as he confirms that he’d start working on his own singles and we’re expecting to see some dropping before the year runs out. | ENJOY!!!
