She wakes you up early in the morning and makes sure you are in the right frame of mind while trying to get the day started with her daily morning show she calls "The good morning Nigeria show" which last from the early hours of 5am - 10am. And in order to make sure you don' tmiss her too much, she returns on Sundays again with her afternoon show called "chill out zone" from 2pm-7pm.
She's tall, beautiful and like to be addressed as " Warri girl with the yankee swaggs." Shine Begho is an on air personality with one of Nigeria's leading radio stations in Nigeria, COOL FM and the brain behind the only rave that celebrates top celebrities under one umbrella. We caught up with her and she gave us a little insight into what inspired her to starting her periodic rave tagged "SHINE WITH THE STARS"
WHO EXACTLY IS SHINE?
My full name is Anino Judy Shine Begho . Am an Itsekiri girl from Delta state, Warri to be precise. (A Warri girl with a yanky swag). Well am a fun loving entertaining girl and people usually say "never a dull moment with shine"
EDUCATION BACKGROUND?
Am a B.SC holder. I majored in mass communication in Madonna university, Okija Anambra State.
CAREER AS AN O.A.P, HOW DID IT ALL START?
My career as an O.A.P started two weeks after graduation ..I started as a tv presenter with galaxy television Lagos, then i found radio in2008 and started doing both together striking a balance,it was funny.You see me on tv then you hear me on radio that was Eko fm Lagos then.I moved to Abuja and I got a radio job with Hot fm Abuja. I got tiredof Abuja. I missed Lagos so I came back and then I joined Classic FmLagos and then moved to City Fm Lagos and the Rainbow Fm and then zoodrums radio which was an internet radio and now am with Cool Fm Lagos.What a journey you would say but believe me, I learn every step ofthe way , gathering experience every where I found myself.
YOUR MAIDEN EDITION OF "SHINE WITH THE STARS" WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND IT?
Shine with the stars is one of my pet project. I don't want people to know me for just being a radio personality, I want them to know me also for something else but not just the usual. Something different but uniquely different because I love doing my things in a unique and different way. A rave has never being done in Nigeria so am happy tosay am the first but not just a rave but a celebrity rave. Am trying to connect fans with their favorite celebrity in close range having fun with each other and networking etc. Making dreams come true. So its a night of hanging out with me, Shine and other celebs under one roof getting our groove on with our fans so we can all relate with each other. Don’t forget its these fans that make us celebs. 'Shine with the stars celebrity rave' as you can see my name is attached to it so you know Shine with the stars is me and am here to stay ,make a difference and yes Shine with the stars is going to tour. I think big so by God's grace we going to tour soon from Nigeria to other African countries and then Europe.
HOW WAS IT ACCEPTED?
To God be the glory, It was accepted well in fact it was a huge success after the first series people kept asking when the next series of shine with the stars celebrity rave will take place.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU INTEND TO MAKE IT HAPPEN?
Shine with the stars will take place every 2 months and of course with themes.The first series was a club rave and now the second series is a "celebrity pool rave" and am not going to tell you the other themes.You will know when the time comes.
CHALLENGES YOU FACED STAGING THE EVENT?
Hmm. Challenges, well its the usual getting of sponsors which every one knows could be very difficult so I have to use funds from my own pocket but you know when you start something new you have to make couple of sacrifice. So this is the sacrifice I have to do before I start getting sponsors. The sweet thing is that later on this sponsors will be the on to chase me. (Oluwa is involved.)
WHEN IS THE NEXT “SHINE WITH THE STARS” HAPPENING?
Well with God on our side, we looking at 25th of next month (August). And the venue is BONYOVAGE HOTEL. Victoria island, Lagos, and the red carpet starts 8pm.
